Security & Other TSA Myths

I’ve been reading loads of commentaries and 140 character opinions regarding the TSA and their “new” screening activities.  Let’s just say I am more than mildly annoyed at DHS, and, quite frankly, the US Government.  Instead of using security techniques that actually work, our government remains committed to political correctness at the expense of our Constitutional Rights.

The Israelis are the acknowledged world experts at all things security, and they think we are nuts!  The terrorists are in their caves and mud huts laughing at TSA attempts to keep us safe.  Everyone, except the brilliant minds at DHS, know these efforts are worse than futile.  It was said best by a security expert on TV over the weekend: Our security efforts are reactive, not proactive.  Amen to that!

The ACLU has gone to great lengths to make profiling illegal.  So, thanks to them, and their enablers, TSA feels it necessary and perfectly fine to grope, strip and humiliate Americans so we don’t offend someone.   Seems it is okay to humiliate Americans for appearance sake rather than being effective.  I am NOT surprised the ACLU is silent on these invasive search techniques.  What are they going to say?  Oops, profiling works…  Not on your life.  Political correctness is much more important than, say, our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

I get angry when I see TSA agents near strip searching uniformed members of the military; I get angry when I see TSA agents fondling children; I get angry when I see TSA agents humiliate the elderly; the infirm; the general public, all in the name of national security.  What a frigging joke, people!  How long are we, as a nation, going to take this Big Government intrusion into our lives?  What is is going to take to get us to say NOStop Now!?  I am waiting for the next step in DHS attempts to keep us safe.

The next logical step taken by DHS/TSA will be when Pistole or whatever that goon’s name is, and Janet ‘Napoleon’, decide that because the Saudi’s found explosives in a terrorist’s anus, body cavity searches will be mandatory for all passengers.  Do you think Americans will drop and bend for this?  Or will they quit acting like sheep and tell the Feds “Enough is enough!”

Yes, I am disgusted.  Yes, I am angry – at the Feds and at Americans in general.  I think this nation has too many sheep as citizens and not enough Patriots.  Well sheep.  Prepare for another fleecing and who knows what else your government has in mind for you.

Get mad people.  Tell your government enough is enough!

Federal law requires everyone who enlists or re-enlists in the Armed Forces of the United States to take the enlistment oath. The oath of enlistment into the United States Armed Forces is administered by any commissioned officer to any person enlisting or re-enlisting for a term of service into any branch of the military. The officer asks the person, or persons, to raise their right hand and repeat the oath after him. The oath is traditionally performed in front of the United States Flag and other flags, such as the state flag, military branch flag, and unit guidon may be present.

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

This simple oath has been taken by millions of men and women over the course of our nation’s history, and, by doing so, have offered their lives, their futures to protect and defend the United States of America. Some have been asked to forfeit their lives because they chose to take that oath. Still others carry physical scars because they chose to take that oath. All carry memories of friends, enemies, and events because they chose to take that oath. That oath takes but a few moments to say. Most who take that oath the first time do not realize the magnitude or the potential ramifications of that oath. I took that oath on entry to the US Army, and I took a similar oath when I became a law enforcement officer. I have been released from neither, nor do I wish to be.

Simply put, taking the oath means you have made it your personal responsibility to “Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States from all enemies, foreign and domestic…”. You are telling the whole world “This is my Country, and I will defend her. I will not allow you to do her harm!” You have given your country a blank check with your name on it. You have stood straight and said with clear voice standing before your fellow citizens “My Country will be Free, even if it costs me my life!”

72 words. Takes less than one minute to recite. Its meaning? Almost unfathomable to those who have not spoken those words with their right hand held high, and have worn a uniform of the United States military. Short answer to what it means: You are a Patriot.

Oklahoma, Voters, Federal Judge & Sharia Law

I am of the opinion that it is time for the states to start taking care of themselves – even form alliances with like-minded states.  No, I am not talking secession.  I am talking about telling Federal Judges to mind their own damn business and implement the Constitutional change the voters of Oklahoma overwhelmingly approved.  I know a voting citizen of Oklahoma is upset.  Well, too bad, get over it.  The voters have spoken and it is NOT up to a Federal Judge to decide if she likes it.  I know Judges could care less what the law says as they think they are Gods themselves.  Well, Oklahoma Secretary of State, I suggest you tell the Federal Judge to get off her high horse and go find a real job, and then certify the election and add the lawfully passed amendment to the Oklahoma Constitution.

Concerned with US Marshals coming to visit?  Don’t be.  You’ve got the OHP and the National guard, not to speak of local law enforcement agencies.  They out number the Marshals and you have plenty of jail space for Marshals intent on being stupid.  You could also arrest the Judge and charge her with numerous crimes including: treason, dereliction of duty, et al.

Sadly, the Federal Government has become unresponsive and irrelevant in our society.   Yes, the election results hold the possibility of improving the welfare of the state, but, remember, politicians were elected, and they cold care less, generally speaking, of what is best for our country.  Politicians are in it for themselves, period, so don’t hold your breath waiting for D.C. to improve economic and social conditions in the U.S.

States are going to have to take charge to make any worthwhile change in our country.  Look at the border states.  Have the Feds done anything to improve the safety and welfare of the citizens of those areas?  No, all the Feds have done is post warning signs to keep Americans off American soil.  The Federal Government is so inept it cannot protect American citizens from narco-terrorists and thugs who roam freely about our country.  What the Feds can do is sue states that try to protect their citizens, as is their responsibility.  According to the Feds, all of the citizens of the border states are expendable, and are worth less than illegals swarming into our country.

Enough is enough.

VMT & Trusting Government to do the Right Thing!

The Denver Post suggests one solution to our road woes is to mandate the installation of government monitored/controlled GPS devices in every vehicle to track vehicle miles traveled. A so-called VMT fee. Are they serious? They want the government – state and federal, because the feds control GPS satellites – to have the ability to monitor our whereabouts 24 hours per day/7 days a week? I am sure we can trust the government to not abuse or misuse this information. Government at all levels is far too intrusive now. Would they feel better if tracking devices were surgically implanted in us so “fees” could be assessed by the state or feds for any reason whatsoever? Maybe the state legislature(s) should stop wasting monies received for road infrastructure we already receive by spending it as intended on the roads instead of new progressive social programs. Maybe Governors, legislators (at all state/local levels) quit believing the federal government when they say “We will fund these programs for you. You can trust us. Take the money, spend it, it’s free…”

I shouldn’t be surprised media types spout this kind of nonsense, but I am. How can someone who is supposed to be a watchdog of the government make such a suggestion to approve of such an intrusive measure? How many Constitutional violations would the implementation of this measure cause? How would the Fourth Estate respond if a group of citizens or a government agency caused a measure to be instituted that required news stories to be pre-approved by an appointed citizen group to ensure these stories don’t favor one side or another? Do you think they might get a tad upset? Might voice an opinion their Constitutional Rights are being violated? Might sue to have Freedom of Speech rights validated?

I have to wonder if the Denver Post, and possibly other media outlets, weren’t asked to float this idea to the ignorant masses to see if such a mandate is feasible? After all, the Post advocated implementation of SmartGrid technology which is an appalling privacy violation. Not only can utilities see your daily schedule, so can government monitoring agencies, all in the name of efficiency, of course. They claim the need to monitor our household activities is vital so resources can be better allocated. This is similar to the need to see us naked at the airport to combat terrorism. We were told these naked images of us would not be kept nor would an actual photo of us in or near the scanners be allowed. Gosh, guess what? Photos coupled with images are kept and are, apparently, showing up on the Internet. A TSA agent is in trouble with a local law enforcement agency after he beat up a co-worker who made fun of the size of his genitalia after seeing his body scan.

Sure, we can trust the government not to misuse private information they keep on citizens. After all, where in history has any government misused this information? It couldn’t possibly happen here, could it?

No More Ashcroft or Change We Don’t Want?

I am not sure how many of you read the article posted on Fox Nation’s site regarding the DOJ’s changes to their website. This article appeared last week, but I did not write down the link – my bad. Apparently, the changes to the website were made quite some time ago. I went to usdoj.gov and found, much to my dismay, the article is correct. The red, white and blue that was predominately displayed is gone and it has been replaced with a black and white banner.

The quote “The common law is the will of mankind, issuing from the life of the people.” is posted on the black banner at page top. This quote is from C. Wilfred Jenks, a British lawyer, who was the Director-General of the ILO, ‘International Labour Organization’. According to The American Spectator, Mr. Jenks was a leading figure of the “international law” movement. A source inside the DOJ also told The American Spectator the change was because the flag page was too “Ashcroft”, too “political”. (http://spectator.org/archives/2010/07/16/with-liberty-and-global-justic/print)

So, our United States Department of Justice thinks a quote from a believer in global law and global worker rights is appropriate. Are you kidding me? Mr. Attorney General Holder, what are you thinking? Are you thinking? What is wrong with using quote(s) from one of our Founding Fathers? What is wrong with using the Stars and Stripes as a background for our website? Are you ashamed of our country? Are you saying you prefer global/international law to our Constitution and Bill of Rights? Are you saying you will not enforce the law of the land except where it fits your ideals? Is this your “coming out” party where you drop all pretense of being in charge of defending the Constitution and Bill of Rights and instead want to change to UN International law and/or the law of Socialism or? I am sure you didn’t make this change without the blessing of your boss, President Obama.

What else are you changing, Mr. Holder? Will these changes take effect before or after the mid-term elections? Are you going to allow us to vote or will you declare some sort of emergency and nullify or postpone elections; the Constitution; the Bill of Rights, until an indeterminate time in the future? Is this the beginning of a Socialist takeover of our Republic? Or will you be more circumspect and make changes slowly and quietly so as not to alarm the masses? What are you up to Mr. Holder? I await your answer. America waits for your answer.

Personal Responsibility

My neighbor’s son, Luke, left for Marine boot camp today.  He just graduated from high school in May.  He signed on with the Marines in spite of my son, Luke, and I, trying to get him to join the Army.  I told him I might still talk to him even after he becomes a Marine.

I am very proud of Luke.  I am proud that he decided to join in spite of the fact that this country is at war with terrorism.  He volunteered to go through all the training that comes with becoming an American fighting man.  He volunteered to make the protection of our freedoms; our way of life; our Constitution and Bill of Rights his personal responsibility.  Let me say that again: He decided to make our freedoms as guaranteed by the Constitution and Bill of Rights his personal responsibility.  Yes, I am very proud of Luke.  He is one of the few to make this decision.  He joins a long line of men and women who have made the defense of our way of life their personal responsibility.

Luke makes the third young person to take the oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States from our cul-de-sac. I am proud of them all. Good luck young man. Embrace the suck!

Semper fi, Luke!

MOVE Act

So, Colorado and nine other states don’t want to comply with the MOVE Act, and allow those men and women serving overseas in our armed forces to vote. Imagine, 10 Secretary’s of State willingly and unlawfully desire to deny voting rights to those who VOLUNTEERED to place themselves in Harm’s Way. The rational behind this assault on basic American Rights? It’s too hard to implement MOVE Act requirements.

Oh please, too hard?! Pull your head(s) out and do the job you were elected to do. I am stunned this issue isn’t being discussed in the media. Why is it I have only heard about this on FOX and the WSJ®? I know I shouldn’t be surprised but it is disappointing just the same. It seems there is no respect nor belief in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights from any sector except a minority of individual Americans, and they are generally dismissed by politicians and media as Nazis or nut-jobs.

Question for these SOS: What Rights will you plead to withhold next and from whom? I am certain the withholding of Rights will not be imposed on any one or group that leans left. Are you acting on orders from Sec. Clinton, A.G. Holder, both, Ban-Ki Moon, or someone higher? Are you Governor’s involved in this? (I believe our Governor Ritter is involved up to his eyeballs – just a belief on my part. Nothing to substantiate it.)

We need to raise Cain with these folks and insist our state(s) are in full compliance with the law!

UPDATE: 6 p.m. MDT August 27, 2010  The Pentagon announced today they have rejected Colorado’s attempt to negate the military vote come November.  I am very pleased the Pentagon rejected Colorado’s lame excuse for not being compliant with voting laws.  There is no legitimate reason for Colorado to not be in compliance.  Remember, I said legitimate!  I am sure the ‘powers-that-be’ in this state will figure out a way to not count military absentee ballots or to even send them out in time for our military to vote.

Did anyone hear about this on the local news?  Just curious – can’t wait till morning to see if there’s a story in the Denver Post…

A Call To Arms

October 4, 2009

It is time, America.  It is time to arm yourself.  It is time to confront waste, corruption, and abuses of our Constitution and States Rights in Washington, D.C.

Arm yourself with facts; arm yourself with the truth – not as you believe it to be.  Not with facts you have not researched.  Just because a story or video is posted on the Internet does not make it true.  Look or ask for documentation that proves your position.

Armed thusly, respectfully – not with anger or vitriol – confront your Representative and Senators asking for direct answers to direct questions.  If forthright answers are not offered, ensure word of their evasiveness receives attention by talking to reporters covering the event; write Letters to the Editor; write Op-Ed pieces.  Call talk-radio shows.  Speak to your neighbors, family, and friends.  (Make sure you take accurate notes and/or record your question and answer sessions.  Let them know you are doing so.)  Always ask for an answer to be repeated or clarified, if necessary.

If substantive answers are still not forthcoming, throw your support to a candidate who shares your values, and do everything you can legally do to get them elected.  Do not give up!

Keep questions to the subject at hand.  If open sessions are available to you, have at it.  Be specific with questions.  Quote the bill number and quote from portions of the bill, if follow-on questions are necessary.

Let your Representative and Senators know you will be following their activities and will demand answers, if they stray from their promises.

Too long have we remained quiet.  Too long have we distanced ourselves from the political process allowing Congress to do as they pleased, rather than in our best interests.

Keep yourself armed.  Keep yourself involved.  Keep them aware you are watching.  Keep them aware you are looking over their shoulder.

Let US take back control of OUR country!

I ask God’s Blessing for the United States of America.  I ask God’s Blessings for our Men and Women in uniform and standing in Harm’s Way!

State Department Shenannigans

September 22, 2009

Why is the Obama Administration penalizing the Honduran Government?  Former President Zeyala attempted to illegally change the Honduran Constitution to enable him to remain in office for life.  He appears to be inspired by Chavez of Venezuela and Morales of Bolivia.

Honduras is a democratically operated government, and when Zeyala attempted this illegal maneuver the Honduran Supreme Court rejected his attempt and ordered his arrest.  The military arrested him and he was sent into exile.  For acting to protect their constitution our Secretary of State ordered visa suspensions for most of the Honduran Government.  Other sanctions have followed as has condemnation from our President, Secretary of State, and political leaders.  Our President and Secretary of State are demanding Zeyala be re-instated or more severe sanctions will be brought.

Why?  Why is Honduras protecting its own Constitution a bad thing?  They were following their laws – Zeyala was not.  In spite of the awful rhetoric directed from D.C. to Honduras the Hondurans are standing strong in support of their democracy.  The military acted to preserve the Constitution at the direction of their Supreme Court.  It was not the usual military coup installing yet another despot.  They withdrew and an interim President was appointed.  Elections were not canceled nor were rights and freedoms enjoyed by citizens suspended.

What goal(s) is the U.S. pursuing with these demands?  What is the purpose of these U.S. demands?  Does our government really prefer a Socialist government in Honduras?  If so, why and does this stand by the Obama Administration pose a danger to our Republic?
